It is always good to be home in Arizona for Christmas - there are many traditions during the advent season that give us joy. It is also gratifying to travel to New Mexico for many reasons. First and foremost - the cousins are all there during the holidays. When Merl and I moved out west we made a commitment to routinely visit the cousins so our kids would be close to them. It has been a blessing. We also enjoy seeing Christmas decorations that are rare here like luminarias, chili ristras, and snow! There are also traditions we enjoy with the Millers we don't do here like a scavenger hunt, re-gift/white elephant exchange and gingerbread (graham cracker houses). I'll post on these more later - but here are some pics celebrating what we love from Christmas in New Mexico!

Most hilarious moment: Grandma and Grandpa ended up with gifts they put into the re-gift exchange! Grandpa reclaimed the pot because of the pecans (from his own tree!) inside (ba ha!) and Grandma's gift was taken at the end leaving her with the gift Grandpa had entered! Oh boy did we all laugh!
