mind set

"Most people live unprepared for death. But those who are wise will go to a reliable source to investigate what's on the other side. And if they discover that the choices they make during their brief stay in this world will matter in the world to come, they'll want to adjust those choices accordingly." - Randy Alcorn in "Heaven"

I am determined to spend more time actively seeking Heaven - which also translates to setting my eyes on Christ. C.S. Lewis observed, " It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this. Aim at Heaven and you will get earth 'thrown in': aim at earth and you will get neither."

It seems each day I struggle so with the details......meal preparation, laundry, housecleaning, bills, ironing - phonics, handwriting, math, history, language arts - swimming, PE, the dog, shopping.........components of this life. The rush and hurry of day to day details robs me of the joy of a life yet to come. Oh, how I want to combat this!

' Since then you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.' Colossians 3:1-4
